Negotiation with real estate agents in Korea

WorldSeeker 2021. 3. 23. 21:20

When looking for a house to rent in Korea, you are using almost 100% real estate agents.

You may be able to make a direct transaction, but you may be trading through a real estate broker for a safe

transaction because you do not know the difficulties in dialogue with the tenant or real estate laws in Korea.

However, there is one thing you overlook. You are primarily a monthly renter, not a jeonse(Korean 전세).
The main reason for transacting through a real estate agent is to keep the deposit safe if you have a large deposit.

Because the deposit is not large, direct transactions may be advantageous.
If tenants are English-speaking, attempting a direct deal can also make a significant contribution to saving your money.

Anyway, if I don't like the annoyance and want to use a real estate agent for an easy deal, I'll give you a tip.

In Korea, the maximum rate of commissions that real estate brokers can receive is set by law.
This is what you are likely to overlook.
The legal fee is not to exceed that amount, but it does not mean that you have to pay the amount.

That is, there is room for negotiation.

It is said that brokerage fees can be lowered through negotiations with real estate brokers.
That means a real estate agent will ask you for a 100% legal cap fee.

got it? Next time, try to negotiate with a real estate agent.

I hope you use it well from the next one.
